Frequently Asked Questions
-
An initial Skin Consultation is designed to take the guesswork out of choosing treatments suitable for you.
At the consultation, we'll assess your skin and discuss your skin concerns, goals, lifestyle, current skin care routine and any relevant medical history.
From there, we recommend the approach that's most appropriate for you. That may include a personalised home skincare program, in-clinic treatments, or a combination of both.
That means your treatment plan is tailored to your skin—rather than fitting your skin to a treatment that may not be suitable.
If you're ready to get started straight away, the Olea First Visit Experience combines a comprehensive skin consultation with an Essential Skin Therapy treatment, making it an ideal first appointment.
-
At Olea, treatment recommendations are guided by a comprehensive skin assessment, including a detailed review of your skin health, concerns, treatment history and goals, to determine which treatments are most appropriate for you.
Some treatments, such as skin needling and advanced peels, may require preparation before treatment can proceed. Assessing your skin first helps ensure treatments are safe, appropriate and likely to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Olea Skin & Aesthetics welcomes women, men and teenagers (with appropriate consent).
We work with a wide range of skin concerns, including acne, congestion, sensitivity, redness, pigmentation, uneven texture and age-related skin changes.
Whether you are new to dermal therapy treatments or have previously received treatments elsewhere, care is tailored to your individual skin needs, goals and stage of life.
-
A dermal therapist is a qualified skin health professional with training in skin biology, skin assessment and non-medical and advanced dermal (skin) therapies.
At Olea, care is provided exclusively by a university-qualified dermal therapist who holds membership with the Australian Society of Dermal Clinicians (ASDC), the peak professional body for dermal therapists and dermal clinicians in Australia.
-
Sometimes.
A new skin consultation may be recommended if it has been more than 12 months since your last appointment, or if there have been significant changes to your skin, health, lifestyle or treatment goals. This allows us to reassess your skin and ensure your treatment plan continues to be safe and meet your needs.
-
Absolutely!
Not everyone needs or wants in-clinic treatments, and for some people the best place to start is with a personalised home skincare routine.
During your Skin Consultation, we'll assess your skin, discuss your concerns, goals and lifestyle, and recommend the approach that's most appropriate for you. That may include a personalised home skincare program, in-clinic treatments, or a combination of both.
Your consultation fee includes your professional skin assessment, personalised advice and treatment recommendations. If you purchase any recommended home care products on the day of your appointment, the consultation fee may be redeemable towards those products.
-
The timeframe varies depending on your skin concerns, goals and treatment approach.
Some people notice early improvements in their skin's hydration, brightness or overall appearance after their first treatment, while other concerns—such as pigmentation, acne or age-related skin changes—may require a series of treatments and consistent home care over time.
Because healthy skin renews gradually, lasting results are usually achieved through a combination of professional treatments, appropriate home care and consistency.
During your Skin Consultation, we'll discuss realistic expectations and what may be realistically achievable for your individual skin and circumstances.
-
There is no obligation to purchase recommended skincare products.
However, good home care is an important part of maintaining healthy skin, supporting treatment outcomes and, in some cases, preparing the skin for advanced treatments.
We'll review your current skincare routine and, where appropriate, recommend adjustments based on your skin's needs, goals and budget. Sometimes that may mean adding a product, while other times it may mean simplifying your routine or changing very little at all.
This doesn't necessarily mean replacing products you already use and enjoy or recommending a complex, multi-step routine that doesn't fit your lifestyle. The aim is to help you build an effective, sustainable skincare routine that works for you.
-
At Olea, we use a carefully selected range of professional skin care products, devices and treatment technologies, including Circadia skin care, Dermapen microneedling device and DP Dermaceuticals, and Dermalux LED therapy. Each has been chosen for its quality, safety and ability to support healthy skin function and treatment outcomes.
And yes! These are products and technologies we use ourselves and recommend to our family and friends.
